Jia Za Zhi

马蒂，1983年生于中国武汉。就读于广东外语外贸大学法语专业。2005年创立《after17》女性创作网络杂志。和摄影师Patrick Tsai创建My Little Dead Dick摄影项目，2006到2008年完成影集“爱情日记”，入选2008年法国依荷时装摄影节。她的个人作品已在全球不同国家发表展出，近期入选2009年美国纽约Rezzoli出版社的《SHOOT: photography of the  moment》。她现居北京。你可以去她的网站和博客看更多作品和信息。

言由：你是何时对摄影产生兴趣的？
马蒂：大概是2005年，因为加入了广州的视觉网络杂志《coldtea》而开始接触摄影。

言由：现在除了摄影还做什么？
马蒂：摄影大概一直是我的副业，也是生活的一部分。今年生活的很大一部分都花在旅行上，同时一直保持写作，这也是我很重要的一种表达方式。目前刚制作好自己的第一本摄影书，还在做最后的校对修正，和准备月底在北京UCCA的一个小演讲，以及在东京的群展，都是和今年参与的摄影书SHOOT的发布有关。

言由：你梦寐以求的项目是什么？
马蒂：开个自己的店，做一些和所谓创意保持距离的事情，好好生活，再好好自省。

言由：谈谈你现在居住的城市北京？
马蒂：是个很有趣的地方，什么样的人都有，和许多年来许多人说过的一样，大家都是为了梦想来这个城市的，不管这个城市风沙多大。


Madi Ju born in 1983 in Wuhan, China. She graduated from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies major in French. She founded the online magazine after17 in 2005. She started the project My Little Dead Dick photo Studio with photographer Patrick Tsai in 2006 and finished Love Diary in 2008, exhibited in Hyeres photography festival in France at the same year. Her works are exhibited in many different countries and was included in SHOOT: photography of the  moment published by Rezzoli recently. She is living in Beijing. Di: When did you get interested in photography?
Madi: Around 2005, I joined in a web vision magazine coldtea in Guangzhou, and involved in photography.

Di: Besides photography, what else are you doing?
Madi: To me, photography is always a sideline occupation, and part of my life. I spent most of my time on the road and keep writing this year and this is my another language. I just finished my first portfolio and am proofing it now. I'm preparing for a lecture in UCCA in the end of this month and a group exhibition in Tokyo, which are related with the new book SHOOT by Rezzoli.
 
Di: What do you want in the future?
Madi: I want to run a shop and do something not relating to the said creativity, living a good and meditative life.

Di: Could you talk about Beijing, the city you live?
Madi: It's a very interesting place crowded with variety of people. As said by many people through these years, we all come here for dreams, however irritating the sandy wind here is.

Claire Brassil born 1978 in Maine, lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. Claire Brassil uses a combination of media in her pieces, including coloured pencil, graphite and gouache, creating the sense of opposition that makes her work so powerful.
